Jimmy’s Diner represents more than a neighborhood restaurant—it is a longstanding community asset with roots dating back to 1966, when it first operated as The Ranch House Restaurant. Despite decades of ownership transitions and shifting market dynamics, the property has remained a constant fixture in North Miami, continuing to serve residents and preserve a sense of local tradition.
Under the ownership of Lyonel and Marie Blaise, Jimmy’s Diner has reestablished itself as a dependable, family-oriented dining destination, employing local residents and maintaining a loyal customer base. However, the physical structure—situated on a 2,805 sq. ft. site along a key commercial corridor—had not kept pace with modern standards, presenting a clear need for strategic reinvestment.
Through targeted grant facilitation and project coordination, this initiative successfully positioned the business to secure funding from the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency, in partnership with the City of North Miami. The project focuses on comprehensive interior and exterior renovations designed to modernize the facility, enhance curb appeal, and improve the overall customer experience.
